Application
KTM 17 is suitable for automatic dipping machines as well as for
dipping by hand. According to the intensity of colour requested
0,5 - 2 % of pigment colours should be added to the dipping wax.
For a smooth and glossy finish dipping twice is recommended.
Characteristics
KTM 17 is a low viscosity overdipping wax which coats the candle
core evenly with a smooth, glossy finish witch is firm to the touch.
A glossier finish can be achieved by shortening the open time. Due
to its special composition, KTM 17 can also be used successfully
as an overdipping wax for 100 % stearic acid candles.
Working Conditions
In order to obtain an optimum gloss the raw candles should be at
room temperature before the dipping process commences. If the candle
is too cold the gloss effect will be reduced.
We recommend following dipping conditions:
Temperature of dipping bath: 78 - 82°C
Open time: 4 - 6 sec
Temperature of cooling bath (water): 15 - 18°C
