Application
KTM 24 is an overdipping and decoration wax. Contrary to normal overdipping waxes a more individual and handmade effect is achievable. The special crystalline surface is slightly different from candle to candle. Colouring can be done with pigment colour (approx. 2 % are recommended) or oil soluble colours. The latter type does have a tendency to migrate into the candle core, depending on the colour. Pretrials are essential to find the right colouring system.
Characteristics
KTM 24 can be used to obtain an overdip with a crystalline, marble ore snow flake effect. It can also be poured on candles, e.g. in net. like patterns. The striped pattern will exhibit strong strukture or white lined tops. The wax can be applied either directly on the raw candle or as a variation on a pre-dipped candle with a contrast colour. For pre-dipping KTM 23 or KTM 17 are recommended.
Working Conditions
1. Dipping (by hand or machine)
The temperature of the wax bath should be between 65 - 76°C. Open time 2 - 3 sec. A single, air cooled dip is recommended. Higher dipping temperatures will lessen the size and area of the crystal-formations.
2. Over pouring
The best results are achieved on white or coloured pre-dipped candles. The recommended pouring temperature is between 70 - 80°C.
3. KTM 24 should not be blended with other waxes, otherwise the crystalline structure will be lost.
